Ohana College is a growing Co-Ed Independent Secondary Special Assistance School for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling. Ohana College is located at Meadowbrook, Qld.

We require a suitably qualified Secondary School experienced Teacher Aide to work on a part-time basis (32 hours per week) . This is an on campus position.
Certificate 3 Educational Support preferred. The position is permanent and part time and accrues annual leave and personal leave. Teacher Aides work 32 hours per week Monday to Friday. Teacher Aides do not work in school holidays.
Key Responsibilities/Selection Criteria
- Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions
- Supporting students with their academic learning, individually or within a group
- Assisting in numeracy and literacy programs
- Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member
- Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
- Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs
- Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitively to students and their families
- Administration assistance to Teachers as required
- Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher
- Assisting teaching staff with supervision during breaks
- Contributing to the welfare, health and safety of students.
- Assist students with special needs including but not limited to, learning disabilities, ASD and other various diagnoses.
Requirements
- Please address the above Selection Criteria.
- Experience working as a Teacher Aide preferably in a secondary school.
- Current Qld Working With Children Blue Card (P) Paid
- Certificate 3 in Educational Support or equivalent preferred.
- Australian Drivers Licence.
- Names & contact details of two Australian professional referees.
