Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the department’s workers compensation and injury management strategy and Injury Management Program, and practices to continuously improve the departments workers compensation and injury management performance.
  • Providing day to day leadership, management, and strategic direction to the Injury Management Team, guiding the management of workers compensation within a contemporary framework, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Provide injury management and workers compensation reporting and actively participate as a member of the Agency Executive’s Safety, Wellbeing and Injury Management Committee.
  • Oversee the case management of workers’ compensation cases, and non-compensable cases, to ensure the provision of appropriate injury management - seeking early resolution and durable return to work outcomes, while maintaining positive communication with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing authoritative advice to managers and employees on injury management issues and advice on the management of complex/sensitive human resource matters in collaboration with other HR teams.
  • Taking responsibility for the management of significant projects and the delivery of identified outcomes to ensure continuous improvement in injury prevention strategies.
  • Identifying and coordinating the development and review of any injury management related policies, procedures and guidelines, to ensure they remain both contemporary and compliant, and contribute to management reporting.
  • Representing the Branch and/or the Department in various high-level forums and managing effective relationships with relevant stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Actively contributing towards the management of the Human Resources Branch through participation in the Branch planning process; monitoring and reporting on branch performance/audits as determined; and acting for the Assistant Director, Safety and Injury Management as required.

Desirable Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a relevant field.
  • Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
