About the role
TAFE Gippsland is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Engagement, Progression and Pathways Officer to join our committed Senior Secondary team. In this pivotal role you will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the educational and career journeys of our senior secondary students by providing guidance, fostering engagement and developing pathways. The Engagement, Progression and Pathways Officer partners with students, their families and industry to ensure attendance, academic progress and access to Structured Workplace Learning opportunities that align with students’ aspirations and study requirements. This role collaborates with families to implement proactive engagement strategies, liaises with organisations across Gippsland to source and secure work placements, and fosters strong partnerships between students, families and industry to create a supportive learning environment.
About you
You have a strong student focus with a passion for inspiring and supporting others to reach their full potential. You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, families, industry partners and other diverse stakeholders. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can convey complex information clearly and persuasively to a range of audiences. You are an active listener who demonstrates empathy and a supportive approach. You have high level administration and computer skills with the ability to implement tools and technology to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, track progress and meet deadlines. You have effective problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify challenges and develop practical solutions to support student success.
Experience and qualifications
Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent with demonstrated experience at a high level; OR at least 3 years’ experience in an administrative support role at a high level
Experience in industry engagement and relationship building
Experience in an educational setting would be highly regarded
Experience in working with young people would be highly regarded
Mandatory requirements
Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
Current Police Check (not older than 12 months old)
Current Driver’s Licence
A six-month probationary period applies.
