The Kununurra Youth & Family Support Project is supporting identified street-present youth and their families to access safe and secure living environments and to develop positive life skills and choices.
The Position
We require this role to be filled by a female applicant.
The Female Youth & Family Community Liaison Officers will work in a team environment to connect with youth and families to provide support and access to well-being services.
The Position reports to the Youth Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery:
Assist the Kununurra Youth and Family Support Program Case Manager to connect with young people and their families and provide service delivery.
Support and collaborate with the Kununurra Youth Patrol Community Support Workers to deliver services to young people at risk and in need.
Connect with families of street-present youth identified by the Kununurra Youth Patrol Community Support Workers.
Assist identified young people and their families to attend support service referral sessions.
Assist the Youth and Family Support Case Manager in collating and reporting on youth and family contacts.
Maintain electronic client records and case management data.
Service Collaboration:
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key youth service agencies to identify and enable an effective response to young people at risk.
Participate in strategies to increase the safety of young people in the community.
Participate in emergency management and response duties as required.
Participate in training and supervision sessions as required.
Perform other duties as required.
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated experience in supporting young people and/or families with complex and challenging behaviours.
Demonstrated ability to support young people to be safe, avoid anti-social behaviours, and make positive choices.
Good communication skills, including the ability to engage in a ‘good way’ with young people and their families.
Demonstrated ability as a role model.
Demonstrated teamwork ability.
Respect for cultural protocols within as well as outside of the organisation.
Requirements:
National Police Certificate
Driver’s License
