Your new role

In your new role as General Manager, you will be pivotal in managing financial elements to ensure the company's profitability and financial health. Additionally, you will lead and coordinate engineering teams and oversee the Materials, Planning, and Logistics (MP&L) space to ensure smooth operations.

Overseeing Daily Operations: Manage the overall performance of the manufacturing organisation, ensuring high-quality business activities with maximum efficiency and profitability.

Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels to ensure that there is enough stock to meet production needs without overstocking

Production Planning: Coordinate with production teams to plan and schedule manufacturing activities. This involves ensuring that materials are available when needed and that production schedules are met.

Cost Management: Monitor and control costs associated with materials, planning, and logistics. This involves identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing efficiency improvements.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all MP&L activities comply with relevant regulations and safety standards

Hands-on Management: Be actively involved in the day-to-day operations and leadership of the team through active participation, direct interaction, open communication and informed decision-making.

Team Management: Direct and support the team, ensuring everyone understands their roles and the organisation's goals. This includes recruitment, training, performance appraisals, and development.

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business strategies to achieve organisational goals.

Financial Oversight: Review financial statements, sales reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and identify areas needing improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a General Manager or similar role within the manufacturing sector.
• A degree in engineering is highly regarded.
• Proven ability to plan and track operational steps effectively.
• Possess an energetic, "can-do" attitude.
• Excellent people management & leadership skills
