The Opportunity

• A newly created leadership role with a commercial builder that has undergone sustained and organic growth over the last decade
• Work closely with the Directors in overseeing a team of five PM’s, eight CA’s and typically a dozen or so projects under construction
• Projects in the field include commercial, mixed use, industrial and education up to the value of $15m.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Coordination – ensure company resources are available, allocated and utilised effectively to meet timelines and budgets
• Team Leadership, Mentorhips & Supervision – oversee project teams and provide advice and guidance as required. Conuct regular meeting with internal teams and other stakeholder to review progress and resolve issues
• Risk Assessment and Contract Management – in tandem with Directors and Senior PM’s review contractual conditions to reduce financial, safety and quality risks
• Budget and Cost Management – oversee project budgets and ensure costs are controlled and key deliverables are being met
• Relationship Management – develop and maintain strong relationships with client, subcontractors and supplier to ensure continued growth of the business
• Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution – identify potential issues in buildability, program and cost and work with project and director team to address these in a proactive manner.

Experience/Qualifications:

• A track record working in a project delivery role within the commercial construction sector within Victoria – you may be an experienced Construction Manager or a Senior Project Manager looking for your next step
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams and getting the best out of people – this company has great staff retention and this is key to their success.
• A track record in overseeing site based delivery, as well as grounding in financial management of projects.
• First class stakeholder management skills from clients through to consultants, subcontractors and other entities
• A track record in successful project delivery of commercial construction projects – D&C experience would be advantageous but not esstnial
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing P&L and reporting
