Looking for a kitchen leadership role that starts early, finishes by mid-morning, and lets you truly own your shift and your success?

We’re offering a rare opportunity for a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead the early shift in our high-volume catering kitchen—from 2:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday to Friday. You’ll take full ownership of our AM production, working closely with our bread squad, production, and packing teams to ensure every morning runs with precision and excellence.

Who This Role is Perfect For

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in early hours, takes pride in structured, high-output environments, and knows how to get the best from their team. You might be:

✅ An experienced Kitchen or Production Manager from a high-volume food environment (catering, airline, meal prep, central kitchen).

✅ A high-performing Head or Sous Chef tired of late nights and chaos, looking for more structure, leadership, and ownership.

✅ A shift supervisor or team lead from food manufacturing, bakery, or catering operations ready to step up and lead a critical shift.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading the 2:00 a.m. bread squad shift, setting the tone with clarity and calm focus.

Coaching and developing team leaders—building accountability, clarity, and confidence.

Ensuring the shift runs efficiently—tight workflows, minimal waste, and on-time handovers.

Driving consistency in quality and presentation across all products.

Managing labour and workflow against daily order volume.

Troubleshooting and removing bottlenecks in real-time without losing momentum.

Ensuring an accurate and timely handover to the packing team by 5 a.m.

Coordinating with the packing supervisor for a smooth flow from production to dispatch.

Holding quick daily debriefs to reinforce goals, highlight wins, and fix what needs fixing.

Enforcing food safety, hygiene, and team safety standards at the highest level.

Collaborating with the PM Kitchen Manager and Ops Manager to continually improve systems.

About You

You're a natural leader—calm, clear, and respected.

You’ve led high-output shifts and know how to balance speed with quality.

You’re sharp on food standards and care deeply about the final product.

You know how to manage people and processes—and get the best out of both.

You coach more than you command and hold people to high standards without drama.

You bring energy and structure to your team—even at 2 a.m.

You're organised, solutions-focused, and always looking to improve the system, not just patch it.

You are a permanent Australian Resident or Citizen - this is a long term position.

✅ Bonus Points If You Have:

Experience with HACCP or food safety audits.

A background in central kitchens, catering, airline food, or commercial bakery.

Strong rostering and scheduling skills.

Confidence using kitchen metrics and basic digital systems.
