The NSW Teachers Federation is seeking a highly organised and collaborative Centre for Professional Learning and Public Education Research (CPL/CPER) Manager to assist the Directors with the coordination, production, and dissemination of high-quality professional learning publications, research materials, and events.
The Centre for Professional Learning and Public Education Research Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and production of publications, research articles, and materials of courses and conferences. The position works closely with the Director of CPL/CPER, Assistant Director of CPL, Assistant Director of CPER, and staff to ensure that all operational, communication, and research activities are effectively managed and aligned with Federation goals.
Duties of CPL/CPER Manager
Create publications and edit research as appropriate for submission to the Communications Unit of the Teachers Federation.
Coediting and formatting of the JPL in consultation with the relevant Director.
Manage the CPL/CPER Administration staff and their workflow in consultation with the Directors in a positive and productive manner.
Oversee materials, course and conference fliers referred to Distribution for printing
Liaise with CPL presenters to confirm dates and materials needed for courses and conferences
Liaise and foster positive relationships with academics and researchers and their associates, in procuring work on behalf of CPL/CPER Directors
Issue presenter and course approved “General Service Agreements” involving agreed course work and fees and keep appropriate records.
Monitor and update the CPL/CPER websites with information including course details, JPL articles, research papers and application forms.
Effectively collaborate with internal Federation teams and external partners, to optimize CPL/CPER projects
Assist with managing interactions and communications with Federation members.
Essential Criteria
Excellent writing and editing skills, with a proven publication history targeting a wide range of audiences.
Familiarity with graphic design programs, to prepare materials for the Federation communications unit and assist where requested.
Marketing and Communication experience, including copywriting, familiarity with using social media for marketing purposes to work with and prepare information for the communications unit.
Ability to maintain and update the CPL/CPER websites such as uploading course information and application forms, or research papers with a proven experience in accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills to lead others in a team approach to optimize connection with Federation members, external and internal presenters and researchers and the staff and officers of the Federation.
Desirable Criteria
A knowledge of and background in Research or writing and an understanding of the processes from draft to final publication.
Experience in a Communications or Publication environment.
Understanding of printing terminology as it relates to the use and production of materials and promotional tools.
Salary and conditions
The salary for this permanent role is $120K.
