They are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant from an Insurance background to join the finance team during a period of sustained growth and transformation. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance and supporting key strategic initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS17
• Lead the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors
• Support regulatory reporting requirements (APRA returns, tax reporting, etc)
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Drive process improvements and contribute to finance transformation projects
• Collaborate with key internal stakeholders including actuarial, risk, and underwriting teams
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members

Required Skills and experience

• CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 5 years' experience in financial accounting
• Previous experience in the insurance or financial services industry highly desirable
• Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with relevant reporting frameworks
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Analytical mindset with a continuous improvement attitude
