Our client, a large Federal government department based in Macquarie Park, NSW, requires multiple experienced digital accessibility specialists for long 12 + 12 + 12 month contracts.

Duties

• Perform WCAG compliance audits of websites, mobile applications, digital documents, emails.
• Using assistive technologies such as screen readers (desktop, mobile), speech recognition software, operating system, and browser accessibility features, etc, to assess accessibility compliance and needs.
• Creating and manage accessibility work items using Azure DevOps.
• Participating in routine agile ceremonies, routine design, planning, and estimation sessions.
• Working with delivery and sustainment teams to identify opportunities for accessibility improvements.
• Performing accessibility reviews of design wireframes, prototypes, developed interfaces, and existing systems.

Selection Criteria

• Experience as an accessibility specialist in public sector environments.
• Experience delivering public digital service with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility.
• Experience with WAI-ARIA, best patterns and practices - HTML, CSS, JS - Common assistive technologies.
• Experience with WCAG compliance audits and reviews.
• Experience with training and capability uplift.
