Brisbane Bayside | Full-Time | Equity Pathway | Collaborative, Tech-Savvy Firm

$120K – $130K + Super (based on experience)

A well-established Chartered Accounting firm, located in Brisbane's bayside, is looking for an experienced Taxation / Business Advisory Services Manager to join their growing team. The firm works with a wide range of small-to-medium businesses and is known for its cloud-based systems, tech-savvy approach, and a collaborative, team-oriented environment. As a key member of the team, you’ll work closely with the Partners and take on a hands-on role with clients, while also mentoring junior staff and overseeing the workflow of the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Preparing and reviewing complex financial statements and tax returns
• Providing clients with tax planning advice, including budgeting, forecasting, and minimising tax liabilities
• Managing and mentoring a team of junior and intermediate accountants
• Overseeing workflow and billing for your client portfolio
• Building strong relationships with clients through regular meetings and ongoing communication
• Collaborating with internal and external bookkeepers
• Reviewing tax returns and financial statements prepared by the team
• Assisting the Partners with BAS reviews during busy periods

What We’re Looking For

• A degree in Accounting or Commerce
• At least 10 years of experience in an Australian public practice firm
• Solid technical tax knowledge, including Div 7A, CGT, and various business structures
• Experience managing a diverse portfolio of SME clients, particularly trusts and family groups
• Ability to manage multiple clients and meet billing targets
• Attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
• Comfortable with cloud-based software and technology

Desirable Skills

• CA or CPA qualification
• Registered Tax Agent
• Familiarity with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, Karbon, SweetFiles, and ChangeGPS
• Experience with cashflow management and business structuring advice
• Experience preparing financials in Xero Ledger and tax returns in Xero Tax
