About the role

We have an opportunity for a Security Officer to be part of our Security and Protocol team within our Organisational Development Command. The Security Officer performs safety and security services for the NSW Police Force in an ethical, efficient and cost effective manner for all Academy sites, facilities and persons therein.

Based in Goulburn at the NSW Police Academy, this position entails working 6 hour shifts on a 19-day-4-weekly roster covering shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shift penalties and allowances apply to public holidays, weekends, afternoon and night shifts with a flexible approach to rostering to provide employees with a suitable work/life balance. Working in a small team, the position is responsible for on-site security, this includes, among other duties:

  • Staffing the front gate,
  • Locking and unlocking facilities,
  • Providing after hours assistance to students and visiting staff, and
  • General on-site security monitoring and patrols.

The Academy is a secure location with onsite facilities, including a cafe and gym available to all employees. Applicants will need to demonstrate they meet the mandatory requirements that include:

  • Hold a drivers licence with no traffic infringements in the last 6 months
  • Possess a current NSW security licence. Licensed according to the Security Industry Act 1997 - Class 1A
