A venture scaling arm of a major bank in Sydney is seeking a Security Engineer and a Senior Security Engineer to join their team. Initially a 6 month contract highly likely to extend for the right person.

Responsibilities:

• Build understanding of cyber security risk and threat modelling fundamentals.
• Develop understanding of systems, technologies and processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Engage in everything from security operations, penetration testing, threat modelling, secure authentication design, and third-party risk assessments
• Develop and enforce secure coding standards and best practices in collaboration with DevOps and Engineering.
• Work closely with DevOps to secure AWS and/or Azure environments (IAM, VPCs, security groups, etc.).
• Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and breaches.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance requirements

Key Skills / Experience

• 3–5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related roles.
• Confident working across multiple domains, including AppSec, SecOps, Cloud Security, and DevSecOps
• Experience with authentication protocols
• Understanding of security in cloud environments— AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) is a plus.
• Familiarity with common compliance and security frameworks.
