This role
We are currently seeking someone to join our small team to help with insect breeding.

If you cannot start at least some days immediately (moving to full time within a short period).

Qualifications & experience
No required qualifications or experience however, successful applicants will clearly demonstrate capacity and interest in animal production or farming as well as suitable past history that suggests an ability to understand and perform tasks in animal breeding and management of animal colonies.
Tasks & responsibilities
Daily tasks include feeding, breeding and cleaning primarily in our cricket breeding facility. These include cutting and preparing vegetables as food, cleaning wastes, collecting eggs and caring for the different life stages of the crickets. It is physical work in a hot environment.

This job is only with food insects, but you will be supporting our work and the work of other zoos in endangered species breeding via the provision of reliable high quality food for their endangered species programs. Annual salary will be based on your ability to deliver in the role and there are significant opportunities for bonuses and other incentives.

Frogs.org.au is a not-for-profit company focused on conservation of amphibians. We have been saving frogs since 1994. To feed our frogs and produce income via sales we produce food insects that we sell to other zoos, parks, wildlife carers and pet keepers.
Employment Process
Looking for immediate starters. I will select suitable people to commence once applications arrive. I will email suitable candidates with more information and any questions that require clarification - you will reply with responses to all questions. I am unlikely to conduct interviews - i may do so via phone if I need to speak to you, you will be offered paid trial days and if successful you will continue in employment.
It is expected you would trial a day or two to determine suitability, then a few weeks continuing in casual employment (a chance to prove yourself and your capacity to learn and improve) then a full time contract will be negotiated.
