ROLE DETAILS
The primary role function is to lead on site safety and wellbeing efforts and contribute to the delivery of Ranger's HSEC strategy through leading, coaching and the implementation of Workplace Health and Safety initiatives. In- short the role is about improving compliance practices in the field and aiding organisational safety maturity.
The HSEC Supervisor will supervise, lead, and coach two field Health Safety and Training Advisors, and collaborate with the Field Operations Teams and Operations leaders to ensure best practice safety management.
The role operates on a FIFO roster from Perth, offering the right candidate the opportunity to develop their career working alongside a team of five safety professionals across several mine sites operated by Tier 1 organisations. A particular focus is improving our field safety leadership competence, and as such, the role holder will concentrate on:
Operating as the field HSEC SME, adhering to all safe working practices and procedures, and identifying and reporting incidents and hazards as per procedural requirements.
Leading incident investigations and constructing comprehensive reports.
Advising and coaching leaders and site personnel with a focus on developing field leadership and building a proactive safety culture in line with our Safety Maturity Plan.
Contributing to the continuous improvement, development, and management of WHS practices and processes to achieve Ranger's Health and Safety Goals. This includes contributions and input to the establishment of our safety, environmental, and compliance strategies.
Assisting with, and where appropriate leading, internal and external inspections and audit reports and identifying SMART actions in collaboration with the action owners.
Ensuring WHS standards and Environmental documentation are updated and reflect contemporary and relevant legislation, regulations, and industry trends.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will possess:
Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety or Workplace Health & Safety. Degree qualification preferred
Competency in leading incident investigations and preparing comprehensive reports
The ability to manage HSE to legislative requirements
Ideally competence gained via 5 years exposure to a field-based position within the mining, energy and resources or similar industries
Subject matter expertise and a keen interest in contemporary WHS and Environmental Legislation, trends and developments
Above average computer literacy, interpersonal, report writing, and communication skills.
