About the role

Take2 is seeking a Web Development Educator for its new classroom, opening at the Macquarie Correctional Centre (Wellington, NSW). You will join a distributed team of teachers across NZ and Australia.

This role leverages your ability to teach, write code, and innovate. The educator's primary responsibility is to provide an effective learning experience. You will teach a core curriculum of software development, complemented by soft skills to set students up for success. Examples include building habits, communicating feedback, and professional accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Take full ownership of the Take2 classroom at Macquarie Correctional Centre.

Ensure student progress by performance tracking, 1:1 check-ins, and assessments.

Use student insights to inform teaching approaches.

Work with the global teacher team to improve student outcomes by co-developing and iterating on the curriculum.

Ensure compliance with CSNSW requirements.

Liaise with centre staff to facilitate the needs of the class.

Support student recruitment (e.g., candidate interviews, info sessions).

Write student reports & contribute to organisational reports for stakeholders including CSNSW, funders, and the board.

Proficiencies as a Programmer/Developer: You may be a recent graduate from university or a bootcamp, a self-taught coder, working in the industry, or a tech teacher in a school looking for a career change. Ideally, you will have some knowledge of JavaScript/ECMAScript 6 and React.
