About This Opportunity
The AV Technician will provide timely and effective technical support for Tier 1 and 2 Audio-Visual (AV) and Desktop support functions across the University. In this role, you will assist clients to ensure seamless AV and desktop experiences. Acting as a key link between ITS and clients, you will use your excellent communication skills to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure smooth service delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of the University's technical needs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and AV issues through self-service guides, phone, email, remote assistance, and on-site support when needed.
- Support various platforms (Microsoft, Apple, AV) using UQ tools, modern deployment technologies, and manage IT assets, network, and applications.
- Apply excellent customer service practices, monitor service requests, maintain documentation, and assist with IT equipment management and support for teaching and research environments.
- Promote and adhere to UQ's Cyber Security Policy, ensuring compliance with cyber security procedures and standards.

About You
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in Audio-Visual or a related field, or a combination of relevant experience and training.
- In-depth knowledge of Audio-Visual technologies and experience in providing support for AV systems and operational components.
- Proven experience in remote assistance and on-site support, troubleshooting and resolving issues with AV systems.
- Strong understanding of IT/Data security issues and solutions
- Experience supporting mobile technologies
- Demonstrated ability to work with clients in a service-oriented role, specifically within an Audio-Visual service management environment.
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to document processes and interpret client needs clearly.
- Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working on project teams as a team member.
- Current Class C Driver's licence.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
