Your Opportunity
Part-time | 15-20 hours per week - Mondays and Wednesdays required
Ideal for a university student with an interest in biological sciences and medical terminology. The ability to learn quickly and work autonomously is critical.
Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Junior Medical Receptionist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. Your responsibilities include:
Reception & Patient Services
- Welcoming patients and their families with professionalism and care.
- Managing appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations.
- Handling phone, email, and face-to-face inquiries.
- Triaging and prioritising incoming requests and tasks.
- Managing patient expectations and resolving concerns.
- Processing payments, financial reconciliation, and debt resolution.
Administrative Support
- Managing, sorting, and distributing correspondence.
- Performing secretariat duties, including minute-taking and record-keeping.
- Supporting patient flow and care with efficient administrative processes.
- Coordinating with healthcare facilities to ensure necessary resources.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and data integrity in billing systems.
- Ensuring compliance with medical and administrative policies and procedures.
- Handling referrals, appointment management, and audit administration.
- Anticipating and completing administrative needs to support both staff and patients.
- Making ethical decisions and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Genie software experience is advantageous but not required.

Your Application

We require availability on Mondays and Wednesdays, with some flexibility around exact hours - for approximately 15-20 hours per week. This is an ongoing permanent part-time position.
Selection Criteria
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following attributes in the context of the role:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally, maintain confidentiality, and communicate sensitively with staff, patients, and the public.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of (or the ability to quickly learn) basic medical terminology to accurately interpret patient records and information systems.
- Ability to remain composed and adaptable under pressure while ensuring efficient administrative outcomes.
