About the Role:
We’re seeking a Finance Manager within a corporate environment to lead financial operations and controls across our Business Unit, based in Sydney. Reporting to the Divisional Finance Director, you'll provide strategic insight, drive performance, and ensure best-in-class financial governance. You’ll be the key finance liaison influencing contract outcomes, supporting client and company initiatives, and playing a critical role in P&L ownership.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead financial management and reporting for the entire Business Unit

Prepare and present monthly P&L, balance sheet, project profitability reports, forecasts, and financial insights for senior management and clients

Conduct monthly contract and business reviews with a focus on underperformance and opportunity

Drive cost efficiency, margin improvement, and contract compliance

Manage contract governance, ensuring accurate financial treatment of all contract elements

Oversee cash flow, forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes

Act as a key business partner to senior leaders, influencing strategy and performance

Ensure compliance with company policies, maintain data integrity, optimize company systems, and manage accurate financial records and reporting.

Build strong relationships across finance, operations, client teams, and external stakeholders

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Contract Support team — including recruitment, appraisals, and succession planning

Use tools like PowerBI and ERP systems to drive automation, eliminate manual processes, and enhance decision-making

What You Need to Apply:

Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar leadership role

Chartered Accountant qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

Experience in complex, matrix or multinational environments

Proven commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders

Proficient in PeopleSoft, PowerBI, TM1 and other reporting systems

Previous exposure to Cost Plus, Fixed Price and GMP contracts is highly desirable

Experience managing financial teams and working across business functions
