About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to provide hands on leadership to staff employed within our Burial Services team and carries with it an opportunity to positively impact the community.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the burial operations team in the on-going delivery of cemetery services to GMCT customers and stakeholders
  • Develop and implement team and individual coaching and development opportunities
  • Ensure that services delivered are effective, efficient, customer focused, and consistent with GMCT’s strategic objectives
  • Resource allocation and scheduling
  • Provide burial services including Excavation, Elevated Work Platform Operation, Shoring, Mausolea internments and grave set up & presentation
  • Apply horticultural knowledge and decision making skills to ensure that horticulture operations meet with best practice and are in line with current horticultural standards

About You

  • A relevant qualification in operations or other discipline with significant experience with team supervision (minimum 5 years), or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience
  • Knowledge of the construction/earthmoving field (desirable)
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to apply these with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven capacity in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of similar services
  • Experience in works planning, prioritising and delegation of works
