WM Waste Management is an Australian family-owned business that has been servicing our community for nearly 40 years. We are committed to providing efficient and safe rubbish collection services to Melbourne’s Southeast and across other parts of Victoria and southern New South Wales.

Our services include skip bin hire, servicing residential customers, businesses and major state projects, and hard waste collections where we work with local councils all over Victoria to provide both Area Wide and At Call hard waste services. We also do bulk mattress collections for businesses and councils across Victoria and parts of New South Wales.

About the Role

We are seeking a Hard Waste At Call Supervisor to lead and manage our team of 6 Trucks. If you have experience supervising road crews and a strong understanding of waste collection operations, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

You will oversee daily operations, ensuring that waste collection runs smoothly, safely, and in compliance with contract requirements. You’ll play a key role in training staff, conducting audits, managing schedules, and liaising with councils.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise drivers, offsiders, and subcontractors of waste collection
• Conduct daily audits, inspections, and toolbox meetings
• Train and induct new staff
• Manage crew rosters
• Investigate customer complaints
• Ensure compliance with vehicle overloading and fatigue management.
• Coordinate vehicle repairs
• At Call - respond to staff queries
• Investigate and report incidents, injuries, and property damage.

About you:

• Knowledge of Local Government waste collection requirements.
• Previous experience supervising on-road teams.
• Strong people skills
• Experience with two-way communication systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Heavy Rigid (HR) Truck License (essential).
• Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) (preferred).
