About the Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Caseworker to join our Permanency Support Program. This role involves managing a caseload of Aboriginal children and young people, ensuring that they receive the best possible care. You will work closely with carers, birth families, and NSW Community Services child protection teams to support and implement care plans.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Manage allocated caseload, meeting all case management responsibilities
Complete relevant reporting and documentation, such as S149 and S163
Maintain regular contact with children, young people, and Carers
Review and facilitate case plans, ensuring key stakeholders attend relevant meetings
Support and supervise contact between children and their birth families and significant others
Participate in on-call duties
Requirements
Aboriginality
Working with Children's Check
Undertake a National Criminal History Check
NSW Driver’s Licence (minimum P2)
Skills and Experience
Willingness to travel across metropolitan Sydney to support families
Experience in Out of Home Care or the Child Protection sector
Relevant qualifications or extensive life skills
Knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal communities, families, and children
Experience working with birth families experiencing intergenerational trauma
Understanding of the impacts of Drugs & Alcohol, Mental Health, and Domestic Violence on families
Ability to build rapport and trust with children, adolescents, and families
