Your Choice Supports (YCS) is a NDIS registered boutique disability support provider, based on the west side of Brisbane. Our mission is to provide holistic and high-quality support to enable people to have choice and control in their lives. We offer multiple services including Supported Independent Living (SIL), Short-Term Accommodation (respite), Community Access, In-Home and Daily Living Skills Hub (group based program).

The Role:

We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for working in the disability industry and someone with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships. We look for people with strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and people who love working collaboratively as part of our team. Our recruitment process involves finding the right applicant that matches well with the specific needs of the person being supported. This is taken into consideration when shortlisting applications.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Empowered and Personalised support: Develop a deep understanding of each individual's unique needs, preferences, and goals, and use this information to tailor supports to get the best outcomes for the person.
2. Daily Living Assistance: Assist people with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation, while respecting their dignity and promoting their independence.
3. Skill Development: Collaborate with people to implement tailored strategies to enhance their independence and life skills.
4. Community Engagement: Encourage social interaction and engagement, fostering meaningful connections, and promoting a sense of belonging in their local communities.
5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of people's progress, incidents and areas of note. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
6. Safety and Well-being: Follow established protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, respond to emergencies, and manage challenging behaviours.
   

To be considered for the role you need:

• Prior industry experience at a Level 2.1 or higher on the SCHADS award.
• Availability to work short shifts, evenings, sleepovers and weekends at times (essential)
• Willingness to work in the Brisbane Western Corridor, North Side, and Logan areas.
• A genuine passion for working with individuals with disabilities and improving their lives, with demonstrated experience addressing the key responsibilities
• NDIS Workers Screening Clearance
• Valid First Aid and CPR
• NDIS Orientation Module
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Valid Australian Driver's License (or equivalent)
• Access to a motor vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
• Sound understanding of the NDIS and the ability to support individuals to achieve their goals in a person-centered environment
• Knowledge of YCS and services offered (refer to our website and social media for more information)
