About the Role The Academic Programs Officer is responsible for administering Faculty Admissions and Recognition of Prior Learning requests; resolving escalated student matters; and for providing expert administration, policy advice and resolution of complex and unprecedented student enquiries. The work comprises administrative management of student administration issues and includes a range of specific functions within the Faculty Operations Team that require specialised knowledge and skills. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: • Resolve complex and unprecedented student administration enquiries and eRequests escalated from the Lifetime Learner Experience Unit (LLEU). • Ensure that the Faculty's selection criteria for admission into the Faculty's courses satisfy University's rules and policy and reflect admission requirements stipulated in course accreditation documentation and in the UTS Admissions Policy.• Manage the assessment of Coursework, Concurrent Study, Inbound Exchange and Internal Course Transfer applications, and prepare situational responses to student administration enquiries on behalf of the Dean, Associate Dean (Education) and Director (Students).• Process Credit Recognition applications in accordance with the Faculty Credit Recognition Guidelines.• Facilitate the Early Practical Legal Training (PLT) application process.• Liaise with the Data Analytics and Insights Unit (DAIU), the Dean, the Associate Dean (Education) and Faculty Subject Coordinators to facilitate the administration of the early and summative Student Feedback Surveys each session, and the dissemination of survey data within the Faculty. With examples, please outline within your Cover Letter, how you meet the following key selection criteria: • Significant and broad knowledge of University rules, policies and procedures, and demonstrated understanding of the processes related to curriculum, course, subject and student management.• A tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated relevant skills and experience.• Experience in academic/student administration in a university or similar context.• Demonstrated ability to set and exhibit a high standard of quality service orientation.• Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks, to meet and manage competing deadlines and maintain a high degree of accuracy within a high-pressure work environment. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication abilities with particular regard to explaining complex student matters in an appropriate, clear and concise manner.
Remuneration
Base Salary: $95,893 to $103,828 pa (HEW 6) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary. This position is full-time, and appointment will be made on continuing basis.
