The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team at ShoSho!
You’ll be part of a passionate group of hospitality professionals, helping to lead the venue while delivering exceptional service and memorable dining experiences in a vibrant, high-energy atmosphere.
The Venue:
ShoSho is a beloved, well-established venue, proudly situated at the top of King William Road, Hyde Park. Our izakaya-style dining showcases Japanese cuisine, complemented by a curated wine and cocktail list. Since opening in 2020, our unique offering and warm, professional service have kept locals and visitors returning time and again.
What you'll bring:
A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in hospitality.
A passion for Japanese cuisine and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
RSA certification.
Responsible Person badge.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Daily Operations
Assist in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations.
Ensure smooth opening and closing procedures.
Step in for the Restaurant Manager when required.
Team Support & Supervision
Support the training, and supervision of staff.
Help with staff scheduling and shift coordination.
Monitor team performance and provide on-the-job guidance.
Customer Service Excellence
Deliver high levels of customer service and guest satisfaction.
Respond to customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
Ensure the dining environment is clean, welcoming, and well-presented.
Inventory & Stock Control
Assist in managing stock levels and ordering supplies as directed by Restaurant Manager.
Ensure correct storage and rotation of stock.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with Australian regulations.
Ensure all staff adhere to RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and safety procedures.
Support compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) policies.
Financial Support
Assist with cash handling, reconciliation, and banking processes.
Report any variances or issues to the Restaurant Manager.
Communication & Coordination
Maintain clear communication between front and back-of-house teams.
Liaise with suppliers and service providers as directed by the Restaurant Manager.
Provide feedback and suggest improvements for operations.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene protocols
