Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Occupational Rehabilitation specialist to work within a friendly, close-knit team of experienced occupational rehabilitation specialists to assist our work injured employees return to work- no billable hours!
The Senior Return to Work Consultant operates in a state-wide Injury Management function that provides effective and efficient vocational rehabilitation and injury management consultation services to injured employees and worksites within a medical/legal, industrial, and public sector environment.
The role involves:
Provision of early intervention services prior to claim lodgement and management of all high-risk claims for compensation referred for return to work assistance.
Development, implementation and evaluation of return-to-work goals, objectives and plans in collaboration with injured employees, treating practitioners and worksite managers that are outcome focused and process driven and in keeping with the department's obligations around suitable employment.
Development and coordination of return-to-work documentation and placement processes, including resume preparation, job matching, canvassing for placements internal and external to the department, attending interviews to determine successful work placements.
Provision of expert advice, consultation, and assistance to departmental personnel in rehabilitation standards, obligations, legislative requirements, injury management principles and processes through formal and informal information, advice, and training.
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
