About the Role

OZ Design Flooring, a prominent name in the flooring industry, is actively seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Floor Finisher and Timber Floor Installer to become a valuable member of our esteemed team based in Sydney, New South Wales. This full-time position plays a critical role in enhancing the success of our building trades enterprise. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the expert installation and meticulous finishing of an extensive variety of high-quality flooring products, ensuring that each project meets our high standards for quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Accurately install and elegantly finish various flooring materials, including but not limited to solid timber, engineered wood, laminate, and durable vinyl, tailored to each client's unique specifications and preferences.

Thoroughly prepare subfloors in alignment with industry standards, including moisture testing and levelling, to create an ideal foundation for new flooring installations.

Consistently ensure that all work performed adheres to or exceeds established quality benchmarks and safety specifications, maintaining a clean and organised workspace throughout the project.

Deliver exceptional customer service to clients throughout the installation process, addressing any concerns or inquiries with professionalism and patience to foster trusting relationships.

Collaborate effectively with the broader project team, including designers and builders, to successfully deliver flooring projects within stipulated timelines and allocated budgets without compromising on quality.

Regularly maintain and service company tools and equipment, ensuring they remain in peak operational condition and are compliant with safety regulations.

Qualifications

Certificate III in Flooring Technolgy (MSF30822)

A minimum of three years of hands-on experience as a qualified Floor Finisher or Timber Floor Installer, with a proven track record of successfully completed projects.

Comprehensive and demonstrated technical proficiency in subfloor preparation, flooring installation, and finishing techniques, along with a robust understanding of materials and their applications.

Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, allowing for precise execution of installation plans and design visions.

A high level of attention to detail, exhibiting a strong commitment to producing quality workmanship that meets our exacting standards.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective liaison and rapport-building with clients, team members, and external partners.

A current driver’s license and a company car will be provided to travel to job sites across the region.

Capacity to work independently and take initiative when required, as well as thrive in a collaborative team environment that values shared ideas and diverse perspectives.

Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices that govern flooring installations.
