About the Role:

We have two full-time opportunities for experienced Business Analysts to join our dynamic Student Systems and Business Support team, providing operational assistance to business areas and users of corporate systems. One role is a permanent position, while the other is a fixed-term contract until November 2025.

As a Business Analyst, you will support University stakeholders by reviewing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing impactful changes. You will also collaborate with business areas to integrate student data into Curtin programs and systems. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects that benefit both staff and students, as well as high-profile, university-wide initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with business owners and stakeholders to understand their challenges and needs.
  • Develop a deep understanding of relevant business processes, system functionalities, and user requirements.
  • Facilitate discussions to negotiate objectives and define clear, actionable requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive business rules and requirements documentation, ensuring alignment with business needs and securing stakeholder validation.
  • Support process change management, ensuring users are informed and prepared for new or enhanced systems and procedures.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professional and personal conduct, modelling the University’s Values and Signature Behaviours.

We are looking for:

  • Completion of a degree with considerable relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Proven experience in reviewing and analysing business processes, working iteratively with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in mapping and redesigning business solutions.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with knowledge of structured project management methodologies and tools.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in a tertiary education environment, with a strong understanding of the student administrative lifecycle.
  • Experience with Student One or similar student management systems.
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, as well as a broad knowledge of current ICT standards and trends.

Role Requirements:

  1. For the continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
  2. For the fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of the role
