The Stanley Bridge Tavern is looking for a professional, creative and hardworking Sous Chef with proven experience, to join our kitchen on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

Assist and support the Head Chef in all aspects of the business;

Lead by example and ensure all procedures (health and safety, food handling, hotel policies) are maintained to the required standard and are being followed by all kitchen staff;

Relay important information to the Head Chef and Management;

Effective communication towards Front of House staff;

Strong time management through effective planning;

Maintain a high level of productivity;

Motivate and develop team members through positive attitude and actions;

Participate in the development of creative dishes for menu;

Assist in ordering, cost controlling and waste management;

Support decisions made and adapt to change, showing flexibility and enthusiasm; and

Proactive in self-development.

About You

Minimum Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery;

At least 5 years' experience in a leadership role;

Hard-working, resilient and good attitude is a must;

Looking to grow your culinary career in a fast growing hospitality group; and

Full Australian work rights.

About Us

Stanley Bridge Hotel is a modern Adelaide Hills Pub with heritage roots located in Verdun South Australia. We are open 7 days a week serving lunch and dinner, we offer special function room service with private dining spaces, and we have a large beer garden which can suit all occasions and events.

We are also looking for a Casual Chef to join the team at the nearby District Hotel.

Key responsibilities include:

The ability to work cohesively in a team;

Manage time through effective planning to maintain a high level of productivity;

The ability to work in a fast-paced environment; and

High standards of food presentation, cleanliness, punctuality and organisation.

Requirements:

Qualifications in Commercial Cookery highly desirable;

Previous experience in a busy hotel or restaurant;

Full Australian working rights;

Motivated, disciplined and a strong passion for food;

The ability to communicate effectively with team members; and

Understanding of industry standard hygiene practices.
