Key Responsibilities:
Inspecting Animals, Plants, and Agricultural Produce:
Identifying issues related to product quality, such as diseases, pests, or other defects.
Providing expert advice to producers on addressing quality issues to meet required standards.
Auditing and Monitoring Quality Procedures:
Conducting audits of quality assurance systems at farms, food handling facilities, and processing plants.
Monitoring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Testing Samples:
Analyzing produce samples for quality, size, and purity to ensure they meet predefined standards.
Using laboratory testing and visual inspection techniques to detect non-compliance.
Ensuring Hygiene Standards:
Verifying that hygiene protocols are adhered to at storage facilities, processing plants, packing stations, and during transport.
Implementing corrective measures where hygiene standards are not met.
Advising on Disease Eradication and Health Implications:
Providing guidance on cost-effective methods to manage and eradicate diseases in livestock and crops.
Educating producers and the public on the potential health impacts of diseases and impurities in agricultural produce.
Pest and Disease Identification and Regulation Compliance:
Offering expertise on identifying pests and diseases that may affect crop or livestock production.
Advising producers on compliance with regulations related to grading, packing, and loading agricultural products for sale or export.
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with inspection tools and procedures; ability to interpret and apply industry standards.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Keen observation skills and a meticulous approach to inspections.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
