If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Park Maintenance Officer on a permanent fulltime basis with a 9-day fortnight roster based at our Sarina Depot.

About this opportunity:
The team you will join contributes to maintaining and preserving Mackay Regional Council's Park assets by undertaking basic gardening, landscape improvements and general maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in mowing and operating small plant equipment, including tractors, mowers, chainsaws, mulchers, brush cutters, chippers, blower vacs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team and strong attention to detail with ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Safety as a high priority when operating plant and equipment and take pride in their work.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- General Construction Induction Training
- QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent
- Medium Rigid (MR) Licence
- Qualifications and or experience in Horticulture/Arboriculture will be highly desirable.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of large ride-on mowers, whipper snippers and small plant including power tools and equipment used for general maintenance tasks.

- Base annual salary of $ 57,018 - $59,319 + allowance as applicable (level offered will be dependent on successful candidates' qualification and experience)

Council is committed to the safety of its employees and requires an immunisation program for identified roles. The successful applicant will be required to attend a post-employment immunisation assessment, by a health practitioner nominated and paid for by the Council.
