ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Job Overview: As a Garment Technician, with your proven experience, you will be responsible for bringing design concepts to life by ensuring the highest standards are met for block fit and grading, construction, quality, and inspecting that all technical instructions and requirements have been interpreted, to ensure each piece aligns with the brand's vision and renowned exacting standards. Working closely with our designers, pattern makers and production team, you will play an important role in fabric assessment and selection, construction techniques, POM & fit assessments and sample comments. By maintaining thorough documentation, measurement checkpoints, and quality control standards, you will ensure all garments are delivered to specification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain block library for size specifications, for offshore suppliers to ensure universal fit accuracy.
Address and resolve quality control claims with designers and production team, working closely to maintain product standards.
Facilitate cross-department collaboration to align on product rollout plans and seasonal launches.
Document and implement all fit comments and adjustments to improve garment fit, construction, and overall quality.
Provide clear, detailed handovers of specifications, adjustments, and comments to ensure accurate communication with production teams and suppliers.
Oversee sample management, including labelling, sealed sample storage, and archiving for efficient reference and organisation.
Contribute design ideas and solutions to enhance Ringers Western’s product offering, ensuring that style complements technical functionality.
CANDIDATE BACKGROUND AND KEY ATTRIBUTES:
Must hold a certified qualification in garment technology, fashion production.
Minimum of 5 years of in-depth experience in a garment technician role within the apparel industry at a reputable fashion house or fashion manufacturer.
Strong technical skills in creating and managing specifications, with knowledge of off-shore manufacturing processes.
Attention to detail in fit adjustments, technical packs, and quality control.
Proven track record in high quality garment construction and technical fit analysis.
Excellent organisational and communication abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software.
