About the role
The Heart and Lung Clinic at St Vincent's Health Network is looking for a dedicated and proactive Administration Officer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, answering queries and guiding them through the clinic and hospital services.
- Patient Support: Manage patient records, assist with appointments, and coordinate with departments to ensure smooth clinical care.
- Problem-Solving: Handle patient and family inquiries with empathy, resolving issues before seeking further assistance.
- Admin Tasks: Order supplies, arrange repairs, book interpreters, handle mail, and support the team with various administrative duties.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with clinical staff to update records, track results, and improve clinic processes.
About you
We're looking for a proactive and compassionate individual who thrives in a healthcare environment and can make an immediate impact in our Heart and Lung Clinic. You'll bring:
- Healthcare Experience: Previous experience or a Certificate III in Health Administration (or equivalent) in a healthcare setting is preferred, demonstrating your understanding of healthcare systems and processes.
- Team Player: The ability to work seamlessly with a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring top-notch service and care for our patients.
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ensuring you can connect with patients, families, and healthcare staff at all levels.
- Empathy & Professionalism: Confidently handle sensitive situations, offering support to distressed individuals, and interacting respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Tech-Savvy & Organised: Proficient in Health Information Systems, including patient administration and Medicare billing, and experienced with word processing, spreadsheets, and other office tools to manage tasks efficiently.
