The Role

The responsibilities of each position vary, but as a Communications Officer you will be required to:

• Develop and implement communications and engagement strategies.
• Support policy and program areas by providing strategic advice and developing promotional communications collateral to drive awareness around departmental initiatives.
• Engage and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop newsletters, articles, and content for internet/intranet and social media platforms.

The Ideal Person

To be considered for an APS5 – EL1 Communications Officer opportunity you’ll have 2-5 years of experience, preferably within the APS, with a qualification in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Marketing. You will have the ability to work in time sensitive environments and build productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be flexible in responding to changing priorities.

Australian citizenship and a minimum baseline security clearance are required to apply.

Salary / Rate

• APS5 salary range: $80k - $89k + 15.4% Super
• APS6 salary range: $90k - $110k + 15.4% Super
• EL1 salary range: $120k - $129k + 15.4% Super
