VIDA is established as an Administrative Office under the Public Administration Act 2004 as a specialist organisation. The Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) is responsible for delivering the biggest transport and health infrastructure program in Victorian history. This includes more than 200 projects such as the Metro Tunnel, North East Link, West Gate Tunnel, removing level crossings, new and upgraded hospitals in Footscray, Frankston and Warrnambool, and specialist programs such as the early parenting centres expansion and upgrade program. Led by the Director-General, VIDA is comprised of the four project offices Major Road Projects Victoria, Level Crossing Removal Project, the Metro Tunnel Project and the Victorian Health Building Authority.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Managing Principal Lawyer, the Senior Lawyer, Commercial and Legal will work within the Office of the Director-General (ODG) to provide legal advice and guidance in relation to a broad range of commercial, legal and related issues in relation to the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA).

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in providing accurate, authoritative and timely legal advice across a broad range of commercial and legal areas, such as administrative law, commercial law, procurement and probity related advice, and corporate governance matters.

The role will also be responsible for assisting with the management of, in conjunction with the broader Commercial and Legal team, all Freedom of Information requests made to VIDA. This includes engaging with key stakeholders, including the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner, senior VIDA executives and relevant Ministerial staff.

Operating in a complex and collaborative environment, you will work with highly talented project teams and stakeholders across government. You will be able to apply your expertise in advising on complex commercial and legal issues to support Victoria's biggest transport and health infrastructure program.
