About the Position:
The Residential Care Officer Position at Sunnyday Carers is a full-time role designed for a motivated professional to support the clients. This role involves the Provide care and support to residents in a residential facility, ensuring their well-being and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
Monitor residents’ physical and emotional health, reporting any concerns to relevant healthcare professionals.
Organize recreational and social activities to promote engagement and well-being.
Maintain accurate records and reports on residents' progress and incidents.
Support residents in developing life skills and fostering independence.
Liaise with families, social workers, and other professionals regarding residents' care.
Ensure the residential environment is clean, safe, and comfortable.
Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable residents.
Handle challenging behavior with patience and professional techniques.
Stay updated with best practices and training in residential care and support services.
Requirements to Apply for a Residential Care Officer Position
Educational Qualification: Minimum of a Certificate IV(Ageing /Disability Support). Experience: Prior experience in residential care, NDIS Disability, or support work is preferred.
Certifications: First Aid, CPR, and other relevant care-related certifications are required.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide emotional and physical support to residents.
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding policies, health and safety regulations, and care standards.
Physical and Emotional Resilience: Ability to handle challenging situations and provide compassionate care.
Background Checks: Police Clearance is required
Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Driver’s License: Required.
