About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Residential Care Officer to join our team. In this role, you will provide direct care and support to residents, assisting with their daily needs and promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, families, and other team members to ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred care.

You will need to perform the following duties:

• Supervising and supporting residents in their daily activities to encourage independence and enhance their quality of life.
• Providing personal care assistance, including help with hygiene, dressing, mobility, and toileting.
• Implementing individual care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals to address residents' specific needs.
• Encouraging and facilitating social, recreational, and educational activities to promote engagement and well-being.
• Assisting with medication administration in accordance with care plans and relevant regulations.
• Observing and reporting changes in residents' physical, emotional, and mental health to nursing or healthcare staff.
• Ensuring a safe and supportive environment by monitoring resident behaviour and responding to emergencies.
• Providing guidance and emotional support to residents to help them adapt to communal living.
• Maintaining detailed and accurate records of residents’ progress, behaviours, and any incidents.
• Communicating with families, guardians, and healthcare professionals to support residents' needs and well-being.

The essential requirement for this position:

• At least a diploma in a related qualification.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in residential care or related field.
• Strong understanding of care plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

AUD 70,000 to AUD 80,000 plus superannuation
