About the Company

A well-established manufacturer supplying the packaging sector is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead all site maintenance activities. With major equipment upgrades recently completed, the business is now focused on improving maintenance systems, team capability and long-term reliability.

The Opportunity

This is a key leadership role for a practical, people-focused maintenance professional who thrives in a hands-on environment. You’ll oversee a team of fitters, electricians and die setters, supporting injection moulding, blow moulding and automation lines.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of 7+ maintenance tradespeople.
• Drive preventative & corrective maintenance – digitise and improve planning.
• Troubleshoot across **mechanical, electrical, hydraulic** and **PLC-controlled systems**.
• Bridge the gap between production and maintenance – build accountability and trust.
• Monitor downtime, introduce KPIs, and support budget control (~$950K/year).
• Contribute to capital works and reliability projects.

What You Bring

• Trade qualification (mechanical/electrical) OR degree with strong hands-on experience.
• 5+ years in a maintenance leadership role (plastics or high-volume manufacturing preferred).
• Strong breakdown response skills and fault-finding ability.
• PLC fault-finding exposure (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley) is advantageous.
• Proven team leadership and the ability to influence culture.
