Founded 60 years ago, this outstanding manufacturer has an opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager to join their innovative personal care manufacturing business on a full-time, permanent basis. This manufacturer specialises in a wide range of products and offers services such as sourcing, packaging, formulating, blending and laboratory testing. Their facility is equipped with multiple production lines for filling liquids, creams, powders, and tubes, and they cater for various industries such as cleaning, cosmetics, personal care, baby care and pet care.

Your new role

In your new role as a Technical Manager, you will oversee the laboratory, quality, development and audit departments. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and quality of production processes.

• Overseeing Production Processes: Manage and optimise manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
• Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain quality assurance systems to ensure that products meet regulatory and company standards.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production issues, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining product quality.
• Project Management: Lead and manage technical projects, from development to implementation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Innovation and Improvement: Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality

What you'll need to succeed

• Education: Science/Chemistry background & qualification are essential.
• Technical Expertise: This includes knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other industry standards
  
• Leadership and Management Skills: This involves setting clear goals, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment
  
• Project Management: Strong project management skills are necessary to oversee complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  
• Communication Skills: This includes writing reports, presenting findings, and liaising with regulatory bodies
  
• Problem-Solving Abilities: A successful technical manager must be adept at identifying problems and developing effective strategies to address them.
