About the opportunity
At NSW Health Pathology, we are creating better health and justice systems. We are currently undertaking our largest digital health transformation initiative to date, which will improve the way we provide patient care, as well as how we provide forensic and analytical science services to help solve crimes. We are looking for a Project Manager, to work on some exciting projects that form part of the Fusion programme. We operate more than 60 laboratories and around 200 collection centres across NSW and conduct over 60 million tests per annum. Our network of pathologists are supported by scientists, technicians and support staff who quickly and accurately assess samples so clinical teams can make the best possible treatment decisions for patients. Our Forensic & Analytical Science Service provides independent, objective analysis to the NSW criminal and coronial justice systems.

What you'll be doing
As part of Client and Business Services and the state-wide Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Program, the Business Implementation Project Manager (one of 3) leads and manages the risk, quality and progress of the projects required as part of the SW LIMS Program to organizational standards, and ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope. The Business Implementation Project Manager will develop and maintain project schedules, work closely with the SW LIMS Program Manager, SW LIMS Program Director, Chief Information Officer as well as Operations Directors, Executive Directors and Clinical Directors to support the successful delivery of programs, ensuring the benefits of the program are realised by the business.

- Solid understanding of diagnostic or scientific laboratory processes and workflows including sound practical knowledge of clinical and scientific laboratory operations and activities including relevant qualifications in Pathology and Project Management
- Experience and a record of achievement in leading and managing critical, highly complex and large technical projects in a large and complex service industry, where multiple stakeholders and organisations are responsible for the delivery of project activities to achieve business outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in project management, ability to balance complex and multiple issues whilst maintaining quality around core project work as well as a proven ability to manage project scope, monitor project progress, identify and manage project risk, provide advice at senior level with the ability to develop, monitor and achieve predicted project outcomes. This includes developing and monitoring plans, coordinating resources, reporting, issue and risk management and managing budgets to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget and to quality standards. Demonstrated experience in Gap Analysis, Requirements Management, Business Process Re-engineering and Business Analysis
- Highly developed analytical skills including ability to analyse and interpret highly complex information from numerous sources, exercise independent judgement in a dynamic interagency policy environment, prepare and present analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused and innovative solutions
- Superior organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with proven capacity to lead and manage highly critical and complex projects
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, influencing and negotiation skills with extensive experience engaging, collaborating and influencing key stakeholders and customers at a senior level to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to work both in a team and individually with effective interpersonal skills, sound verbal and written communication including the ability to produce reports when required and ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders (including IT and Health professionals) providing high quality customer focused services. Experience in conducting Client meeting & workshops, understanding the business need and preparing business & functional requirements
- Proven proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, demonstrated experience using project management software (e.g. Microsoft Project). Good knowledge of the Project Life Cycle. Demonstrable recent experience using an issues tracking and project-management software application such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence environment
