About the role
The primary role of the Environmental Health Team Leader is to lead a dedicated team that delivers efficient and effective environmental health programs and services for the Willoughby community.
You will manage Council health inspection programs for the delivery of Council’s surveillance operations and enforce the requirements of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979, the Local Government Act, 1993, the Protection of the Environment Operations Act, 1997, the Food Act, 2003.
Reporting directly to the Manager of the Safe City Unit, you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with a range of environmental and health legislation, maintaining high standards of service delivery and a positive customer experience.
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health or related discipline.
Extensive experience in Environmental Health in a Local Government environment.
Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.
Problem solving and decision making in the office and field; to be assertive when warranted.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Demonstrated ability to deal with a number of tasks simultaneously.
An ability to accept responsibility and to maintain an image of confidence and competence.
Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
