Sutton Building is a multi-faceted building company specialising in new home construction, renovations and insurance repairs. We’re a small, dedicated team, focused on quality, on time delivery, and exceptional client service. Our head office is in Gympie, and we have satellites in Noosa and Hervey Bay. We are now seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Person to assist with day-to-day accounts and general office administration.

The position is part-time around 20-24 hours a week, but we are flexible with hours/days. The position will largely operate as a job share with similar responsibilities. While the main focus will be on accounts (preparing and processing invoices, payments, managing job costs etc), there is a need to assist on general administrative duties as well as some contracts administration tasks such as maintaining project documents, correspondence, and communications. Bookkeeping functions such as end of month reconciliations, BAS preparation and payroll are all done by an external bookkeeping company. Internally,

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant

Proficient in Xero and Microsoft Office

Experience in BuildXact is unexpected but advantageous

Experience in building or construction highly advantageous

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks

Strong communication skills
