Our client is one of Australia’s largest commercial and industrial building contractors and construction specialists. With a strong national footprint and continuous pipeline of iconic building projects across education, healthcare, public office and defence, their revenue regularly exceeds $Bn and has them placed at the centre of everyday life.
This influential and highly visible role will act as the 2ic to an experienced and respected Chief Finance & Operating Officer, and will provide leadership, transformation, best practice and business partnering support to a broad stakeholder group delivering key business outcomes and operational performance.
This role will oversee all facets of the reporting, compliance, control and financial planning and analysis function but most importantly will act as a conduit to the operational and commercial teams delivering project performance and profitability insights and advice. The purpose and responsibilities will fall into 3 key areas:
Business Performance Reporting & Analysis (month end, insights, trends, KPI’s, R&O register)
Forecast and Budgeting Cycles (Lead the forecasting, 3 year plan & Budgeting process, ensure financial integrity of our reporting systems)
Business Partnering & Support (partnering with the business branches to produce valuable insights and provide financial information to support decision making)
We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified professionals (CPA / CA) that can satisfy the following criteria:
Experience and proven capability in a leadership finance role managing a financial operations team to meet the requirements around delivery of core business processes and ensuring that timelines and deliverables are consistently met.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in using Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) solutions with prior construction ERP highly advantageous.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey ideas and information that demonstrate an excellent understanding of the target audience and how to influence at all levels. Communication needs to be crisp, concise, of high quality, respectful and engaging.
Strong capability to manage a change process and influence stakeholders and team members to work collaboratively to achieve successful outcomes for the business.
Strong time management & organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects.
Experience in the construction sector is desirable.
