Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Coordinator Children's Technology Centre to join School of Early Childhood and Inclusive Education, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice.

The CTC Coordinator is integral to promoting and delivering high-quality engagement programs for young children, families, educators, and early childhood professionals, both on-site and statewide. The successful appointee will work closely with Centre Chief Investigators to develop, coordinate, and lead creative, interactive, and educational programs, workshops, activities, and events tailored to meet the needs of children, families, educators, and individuals working in early childhood settings. Collaboration with faculty members from both undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be essential. The role also includes reviewing, evaluating, and reporting on client satisfaction, attendance, and the overall quality and objectives of programs to ensure continuous improvement. A key responsibility will be coordinating the use of the CTC by researchers and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth operation and proper asset management, including maintenance, cleanliness, and safety. The position involves oversight of Research Assistants working within the Centre, ensuring effective management and support. Given the nature of the role, overnight travel and weekend work may be required to ensure the effective delivery of programs and services. This position reports to Centre Director, Professor Susan Danby, for career planning, development, and performance expectations

Our research includes the world-first Australian Children of the Digital Age longitudinal study, which is tracking digital engagement of more than 3,000 Australian families for four years. The QUT Children’s Technology Centre (CTC) is a purpose-built space located in the Education Precinct at QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus in Brisbane. The CTC has been designed to enable a broad range of events and research activities related to digital childhoods, for children from birth to age 8, their families, educators (including teacher education students) and other industry and community stakeholders. Equipped with recording and other data collection tools and resources, the CTC provides a context for research conducted by Digital Child researchers across a diverse range of projects and a space for research translation..

What you need to succeed

  1. A degree with subsequent relevant experience in education, human services, social work or a related field.
  2. Demonstrated experience working with young children; educators and families.
  3. Demonstrated facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving, liaison and communication skills, including well developed written and verbal skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff goals and in accordance with QUT requirements.
  5. Computer literacy and prior experience using a range of office software including Word, Excel.
  6. Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
