Our client is a leading privately-owned residential property developer based in Greater Sydney, specialising in family homes and medium-density housing. With two integrated divisions, the Group has a strong market presence and is committed to driving innovation and growth within the property development sector.

We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the leadership team and deliver an aggressive growth strategy through to an exit event. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the CFO will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, including financial reporting, strategic forecasting, capital raising, and investment analysis. This is a key leadership position that will require close collaboration with senior management, external investors, banks, and legal teams.

As CFO, you will be expected to manage the financial health of the company while providing clear financial insights to guide business decisions, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with all statutory regulations. Your strategic contributions will drive the financial direction and ensure continued growth and profitability for the Group’s diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accounting standards.
• Lead the development and management of a 12-month rolling financial forecast, integrating cash flow, profit, and loss projections.
• Drive the capital raising process, working with investors, financial institutions, and banks to secure funding for development projects.
• Provide financial oversight for land acquisitions, development feasibility, and project investments, including ROI and risk assessments.
• Lead the finance team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture while providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
• Deliver comprehensive reports to the Board of Directors, advising on financial strategies, investment opportunities, and risk management.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA, CA, CFA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• At least 10-15 years of progressive finance experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role within property development.
• Expertise in financial forecasting, tax compliance, and business case analysis in the context of property development.
• Proven success in capital raising and investment analysis, particularly within residential property development.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers and manage a team effectively.
