As a rapidly expanding business, VLocker Pty Ltd is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to develop and manage best-practice accounting skills and leadership through technology to advance accounting processes/efficiency and comply with all local statutory requirements in North America.
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for all financial aspects of VLocker North America entities. Financial responsibilities include but are not limited to, sale tax, property tax, preparation of monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, development and maintenance of monthly and quarter finance reporting, budgets, budgetary control systems and the preparation of financial reports to Investors.
You will also work to improve compliance, management and operational processes across the entity. Inherent in the role is responsibility for the finance team, including the timely supervision of the team workflow to ensure all reporting deadlines are met for all stakeholders including investors.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Supervise and ensure all statuary requirements are met in a timely manner, for the North America entities.
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reports to CEO.
- Responsible for supervising all finance, cash flow and accounting issues for the North America entities. All processes/transactions within the North American entities are conducted in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
- Communicate accounting policy to operational and finance staff and/or designated personnel.
- Review systems for the Group on a continuous basis to find ways to improve efficiencies and assist with their planning and implementation, together with any staff (financial and operational) training that may be needed.
- Responsible for the preparation of end-of-year financial statements for US State and Federal tax returns.
- Responsible for the preparation of end-of-year financial statements for Australian investor entity tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with the Australian legislation affecting the Australian investment entities that hold ownership of the US incorporated entities. This involves providing information for the Australian tax returns for the Australian entities and ensuring that all Foreign Tax credits are identified and applied to these tax returns. This will mean working in consultation with internal and external advisers, as and when required.
- Assist with the preparation of all Australian income tax returns for the Australian entities that hold ownership of the US-incorporated entities.
- Responsible for and assisted in the setting up and ongoing maintenance of any new entities required within the states of the USA and any associated Australian entities.
- Effective communication with Staff, the CEO and other stakeholders.
- Identify compliance issues and business processes that need improvement, creation or elimination.
- Research and recommend solutions to business issues.
- Where applicable train staff on new business processes.
- Together with the CEO and Finance Manager, communicate accounting and compliance policy to departmental staff and/or designated personnel.
- Assist in selecting the optimal business structure for each new venture. Such a structure will protect assets, minimise compliance requirements and keep the overall tax paid by Australian investors within Australia and the investment host country to a legal minimum. This includes avoiding double taxation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA or CA preferred.
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in the Finance sector.
- Proficiency in MYOB, Quickbooks or like accounting packages.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
