Our client is a growing, reputable firm within the construction industry, and they are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join their Northern New South Wales team. Our client drives national operations and offers an exciting opportunity to take your career to the next level. This role is initially 3-6 months with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate. They are looking for someone who is immediately available and eager to get started in a hands-on role within their close-knit Finance Team.

Your new role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer is responsible for:

• Day-to-day cash management of the business, including debtor collection, creditor payments and customer invoicing.
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assisting with payroll i.e. timesheet entry, etc.
• Journal entries
• Intercompany transactions.
  

The Finance Officer will also work in close cooperation with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency and best practice is achieved and maintained across transactional activities, proactively driving the ongoing improvement of business practices and performance.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in a similar Finance Office role (essential)
• Experience with Sybiz and/or Visionpay (preferred, but not essential)
• Prior experience with end-to-end accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Experience processing timesheets
• Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Great attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial concepts and reconciliations.
• Experience within a large organisation or company (preferred)
• A can-do attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
