We are looking for one part-time, casual Medical Receptionist staff. This role will suit a mature, friendly, patient, highly organized and adaptable individual with excellent multi-tasking abilities.

The surgery working hours are as follows.

Mon-Saturday : 8.30 am-1.30pm

Mon- Thursday: 3 pm-6.30 pm

However, we require a casual staff for only 3 weekday afternoon shifts and 1 morning shift. You can expect your total working hours for the week to be an average of 16 hours, with some additional shifts occasionally required depending on the availability of our current staff.

Key Responsibilities

Answering calls and appointment setting

Greet and interact compassionately with patients and family members

Billing and liaison with Medicare

Fax, scan, emailing and filing of documents

Data Entry

Managing stationery and supplies

Assisting the doctors with ad hoc tasks as and when required

Previous Experience/ Skills

Previous medical reception experience is advantageous but not essential

Knowledge of Medicare billing and Best Practice software is an advantage. However, full training will be given

Computer experience and good typing speed essential

Exceptional attention to detail

Ability to deal with diverse patients across age groups and cultural backgrounds( including some with limited English language capability)

Excellent customer service and an empathetic attitude

Excellent communication skills

Who we are:

We are a busy, family-owned, community general practice with 2 GPs who have been practicing for over 45 years.

We are located in Redfern on Cleveland St in a busy area with limited and time-restricted street parking and no car parking on the premises. Hence, you would need to be comfortable using public transport to commute

Pay: $30-$33 per hour
