Are you an experienced Project Coordinator with a passion for delivering impactful projects? Curtin University is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our Properties, Facilities, and Development team.
About the Role
As the Project Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of key projects, working closely with the Project Director and external consultants to manage commercial risk, financials, and governance processes. You will ensure project objectives are met while maintaining high standards of quality control, scope, and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate project activities using best-practice methodologies to achieve defined outcomes.
- Oversee commercial management of contractor and consultant agreements, ensuring compliance.
- Prepare financial summaries, change registers, and procurement recommendations.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, maintaining an up-to-date Risk Register.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while providing regular reports to the Project Lead.
- Liaise with stakeholders to identify project deliverables and define clear objectives.
- Develop business cases, project initiation documentation (PID), and communication strategies.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and project-related events.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in the management of major works contracts and understanding of statutory, fiduciary, compliance and building industry requirements and practices.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field with significant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks within deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing commercial aspects of major works contracts and understanding of compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make informed decisions.
- Project management certification and previous experience in a tertiary environment (highly desirable).
