What you'll be doing
Integrated Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (IMHAOD) Director of Nursing sits within the IMHAOD Senior Leadership Team (SLT) working closely with core members of the IMHAOD SLT and Nursing leadership to ensure nursing clinical governance and professional standards of nurses. Fostering an environment that promotes professional practice, standards and development within the Nursing Workforce.
The IMHAOD Director of Nursing will be responsible for professional and clinical governance for all IMHAOD nursing staff including but not limited:
• Management of critical and adverse events as part of the Clinical Governance/Risk Management framework.
• Introduction of evidence-based approaches to nursing care and practice.
• Assist in development, maintenance and evaluation of professional standards of practice and accompanying policies and procedures within legislative and professional parameters.
• The implementation of strategies to facilitate successful completion of accreditation programs.
• Nursing workforce planning and development.
• Review, management and monitoring of industrial issues.
• Human Resource management of nursing staff, including recruitment, retention, performance appraisals, professional development, and fostering a positive work environment to promote employee well-being and engagement.
The position reports directly to the Director of Integrated Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services.
About you
Do you have current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the National Nurses and Midwives Registration Board (AHPRA), with relevant postgraduates in clinical leadership or management and/or extensive experience across clinical and management or a combination of study and experience and evidence management experience encompassing administration, human resource management and health service delivery.

Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) covers an area of 11,335 square kilometres extending from Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area in the south to Coffs Harbour Local Government Area in the north.
